She’s a weapon now that she is dead

For the strangers who mourn her

They trample over the flowers they laid for her

In the rush to be seen

You can still get splinters from dead trees

They shout as they gather

Soon she’s not even a memory

So we take what we need

From fragments of an old fairytale

We hold the shattered shards likes knives

From the glass slipper smashed on the ground

Along the river down behind my home

Alice she went walking

Candles flickered in each window then

There was just one

A pale blue light is cast across her face

From under the streetlamp

We’ll be forever finding yellow bows

Tied round rusting poles

So we take what we need

From fragments of an old fairytale

We hold the shattered shards likes knives

From the glass slipper smashed on the ground

So now we watch each other close

From different sides of the road as we hurry home

Alone

Kill Cinderella
