THE DESERTED PLATFORM

They asked :

“Do you want a platform for your views? Do you want to influence peoples’ opinions? Do you want your voice to be heard, your thoughts to be respected?”

“Yes!” They replied. “Yes, I want all those things, I pursue all those things.”

“You want them very much?” They asked.

“Yes! Yes, I have so much to say, I can change things!”

There was silence. Their excitement built at what was rightfully, finally, about to be bestowed upon them.

But the response visibly withered them.

“If you want and pursue all those things so much….then you are exactly the kind of person who should not have any of them.”

And so they were left scribbling their name over and over again on a deserted platform

Like a graffiti artist at a train station in the dead of night.
